UNA-UK has been challenging local UNAs across the country to write to the editor of their local newspaper, calling for renewed UK commitment to overseas development. The challenge received a fantastic response, with six letters making it into print.
Members were asked to show that in tackling cross-border challenges such as climate change and Ebola, UK aid is an investment in Britain’s future. Many local UNAs also included a local angle in their letters by raising awareness about speaker events, election hustings and other opportunities taking place in their community.
A letter written by UNA-UK's Executive Director, Natalie Samarasinghe, was also featured in The Daily Telegraph.
