On 18 April, UNA-UK joined over 40 leading climate, environment and development organisations in calling on the UK government to strengthen the Energy Bill currently under review in Parliament.
The letter to the Prime Minister urges the government to consider the amendments to the Bill tabled by a cross-party group of MPs, in particular the inclusion of a decarbonisation target in 2014, which the Committee on Climate Change has also endorsed.
UNA-UK believes that a clear, legal and ambitious target would signal the government's commitment to tackling climate change at home and abroad.
