We believe the key to the UK “punching above its weight”, as it is keen to do, is to have a strong, principled, values-driven foreign policy. Our values are feminist values and we think the UK’s should be too. In addition, our work on UN reform places a strong emphasis on gender equality in the United Nations. We are a member of Gender Action for Peace and Security (GAPS) and work with GAPS and other member organisations to shape the UK’s National Action Plan on Women Peace and Security. We also work with a number of NGOs and partners including the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy (CFFP), the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and the Swedish and Canadian Governments.
