James Bulman is a Senior External Relations Associate of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
For nearly 10 consecutive years, persecution, conflict, violence and human rights violations have fuelled an increase in the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide, a figure that stood at 82.4 million at the end of 2020. This increase has continued into 2021 and 2022. In this talk James, from UNHCR’s UK Country Office will provide an overview of the situation the UN Refugee Agency faces across the world and explain the work the organisation is leading to begin to improve this worrisome global trend.
Following his talk, UNA Harpenden will hold an Annual General Meeting to elect committee members for the next year.
This will be hybrid meeting and a Zoom remote session will be made available.
