Members of Harpenden UNA have been saddened to learn of the death of Sonia Ayres who served on the committee of Harpenden UNA for over 20 years as secretary and vice chair. At our public meetings she was the cheerful face which welcomed visitors and members, new and old.
She played a large part in the organization of many regular events such as our annual flag raising, annual service and participation in the Harpenden Remembrance Day service and supported this with letters to the local press. She was also a regular participant in national UNA events and the Eastern Regional Council. In many of these activities she was supported by her husband David to whom we send our sincere condolences.
