Our next public meeting is to be held on 27 November at the Methodist Hall, High Street, Harpenden AL5 2RU.
Our speaker will be Peter Segal and his topic will be
‘What are the prospects for peace and justice in Palestine?’
Peter was brought up in a practicing Jewish family
which was very pro Israel. He spent six months in Israel during
his gap year and returned home concerned by some of the things he had seen. He became an advocate for Palestinian rights and for 40 years he has been active promoting the Palestinian cause, visiting the West Bank and arranging trips for Palestinians to come and speak in Hertfordshire. Peter cofounded St Albans Friends of Palestine, a broad based group with no political affiliation and includes people of different faiths and no faith. The hall is open beforehand from 10.30, but in the present circumstances, we will not, unfortunately, be able to serve tea or coffee.
