Clive is an author, speaker, facilitator and coach, specialising in Purposeful Leadership for 25 years. His books include "Leading Beyond Sustainability - six aspirations for a brighter future", "Designing the Purposeful World - the UN SDGs as a blueprint for humanity", "Designing the Purposeful Organization - how to inspire business performance beyond boundaries" and "Leading a Purposeful Life". His early career (1972-1999) was in the electricity supply industry as engineer and senior manager. In 2000, he started his business in Purposeful Leadership and in 2002 was asked to take the MD role at Primeast Ltd, leadership specialists since 1987. He served as MD, board member and senior consultant until 2025 and still serves as an associate as required by clients.
Clive has chaired UNA (Harrogate) since 2015, except for two years (2022/23) when he passed the role to fellow committee member Emma Nicholson. He stepped in as chair again in 2024 and continues in the role. He designed Harrogate Branch meetings around Action Learning Sets so that every meeting culminated in action to inch the world closer to delivering the SDGs.
Clive is passionate about the UN - especially the Sustainable Development Goals. He has travelled the world, speaking at conferences and running workshops to raise awareness to the SDGs. His highlight was facilitating a "Youth Action Forum" for 450 young leaders from AIESEC, the world's largest, youth-led, youth movement. Their quest was "to take the SDGs to every young person on the planet".
Clive has an MSc in Safety and Reliability from the University of Bradford and is a fellow of CIPD and CMI.
Clive is married with five children and one grandson. When he isn't working, he paints, writes poetry and enjoys walking with his wife Frances. In his younger days he played Rugby for 27 years.
