The United Nations Association – UK is appalled by the antisemitic terrorist attack on the Heaton Park synagogue in Manchester yesterday.
We know many people in British Jewish communities have already been living in fear of such an attack for some time, especially following a documented increase in antisemitic hate crimes in the UK and in many other countries.
We welcome the many statements of solidarity and collective grief that have come from different faith communities, civil society and political leaders.
No one should have to live in fear because of their religion or identity. We need a world and a country where everyone’s security and human rights are protected.
