This is the campaign action
Did you know that the UK Government has announced that it will be doubling its military contributions to United Nations peace operations? Meet the people behind the numbers and sign the letter opposite to show your support for Brits in peacekeeping.
Why does it matter?
In September 2015, Prime Minister David Cameron committed 250 troops to South Sudan and 70 troops to Somalia. The UK already has 290 peacekeepers working in missions across the world, 274 of which are with the UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus. These peace operations help save lives.
In South Sudan, more than 200,000 civilians sought shelter at UN bases when violence started. In Somalia, peacekeepers are helping to support a secure environment for the Somali peace process to take root, as well as providing medical services and reliable supplies of purified water. In Cyprus, British peacekeepers support the implementation of a long-term peace agreement.
