In advance of last month's meeting of the UN's Commission on the Status of Women, we asked our members and supporters to tell us which of the Millennium Development Goals with targets pertaining to women was of most concern to them. Our online poll took over 300 votes, with the following results:
- Education: 37%
- Equality: 23%
- Action to tackle poverty: 22%
- Environmental sustainability: 10%
- Maternal health: 7%
We were also thrilled to receive almost 150 personalised messages, summarised below, which raised a variety of issues not addressed by the MDGs, but vital to the achievement women's equality
