UNA-UK and BISA are pleased to announce details of the GenUN Model UN 2013.

This unique one-day event will be held at King's College London on Thursday 4 July and will feature Sir Stewart Eldon, former UK Permanent Representative to NATO and former UK Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations.  Sir Stewart will guide attendees throughout the day on this engaging journey of negotiation and diplomacy.

Booking is now open and tickets will sell fast so secure your place by booking today.

This model UN will put you into the shoes of a world leader as you represent your country at a simulation of the United Nations.  It's a fun experience which will give you key skills in cooperation, team-building and public speaking.  It's also a fantastic introduction to international relations and the United Nations.

Attending gives you the chance to:

  • Participate in group activities making your university application really stand out.
  • Get policy and diplomatic briefings direct from a former UN diplomat and the UK's top international relations lecturers.
  • Network with other like-minded people from across the country.
  • Meet members of UNA Youth - the UK's largest university network dedicated to the work of the United Nations – getting you ready for university.
  • Speak to graduates with established international careers and staff and interns from the UN Association – UK.
  • Report on the day with a chance of being published on UNA-UK's and BISA's websites.
  • Take away a copy of New World magazine, the UK's most authoritative comment and analysis on the UN, and our top twenty UN careers tips from UN professionals.
  • Receive a certificate of completion for your record of achievement

This event will be the biggest of its kind with schools from all four UK nations participating and is an absolute must for anyone aged 14-18 years old who wants to explore an international career.

Tickets are subsidised and places are limited so book now to secure your place.

Doors will open for registration at 10am and the event will end at 4.30pm.  Full details for the day are available here.
