UN staff categories - Senior Appointments
The Senior appointments category of staff is the highest level of UN positions. Individuals are appointed to these positions by the General Assembly and by the Secretary-General him/herself. Positions iinclude:
- Secretary-General (SG)
- Deputy Secretary-General (DSG)
- Under-Secretary-General (USG)
- Assistant Secretary-General (ASG)
This category also includes a range of other senior UN staff, including Special Representatives, Special Envoys, and Force Commanders.
