UNA-UK launching foreign policy manifesto at 2014 party conferences

As part of UNA-UK's work to stimulate informed public debate on UK foreign policy in the lead up to the 2015 General Election, the Association is hosting receptions at the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrats party conferences later this month.

The events will launch UNA-UK's foreign policy manifesto - a document which demonstrates how it is in the UK's national interest to engage fully with multilateral institutions, particularly the UN.

The 21st century is dominated by challenges that require effective global action. From immigration to climate change, job creation to security threats, the issues that people care about have an international dimension and require a global response.

UNA-UK believes that playing an active role on the world stage is an essential part of securing results at home and that global issues must feature prominently in the debates preceeding the elections. The foreign policy manifesto sets out ten ways in which the UK can use its strengths - leadership, a global network, expertise in diplomacy - to deliver wide-ranging benefits for its citizens at home and around the world.

Summaries of the receptions are available below. Please see the events flyer for full details.

In order to attend the receptions, you need to have a conference pass. These are available directly from the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrats parties' websites. Please RSVP to buskie@una.org.uk.
