UN Forum: 4 weeks to go - support the vital role of the UN

We want to build awareness of the challenges facing the international community, and support for the vital role that UN can play in delivering peace, development and human rights goals, among policy-makers, opinion-shapers and the public.

This week's Forum animation focuses on the Organisation's role in addressing the effects of conflict, in this case, helping to clear landmines.

Please help us publicise UN Forum to your networks.

The purpose of UN Forum 2012 is to demonstrate that the British public cares about international issues, and to build a critical mass of support in the UK for a strong, credible and effective UN.

Please see below for several ways you can show your support for the UN and get involved with the issues to be debated at UN Forum 2012.

Take action

Thank a UN peacekeeper

Right now, over 120,000 men and women from 118 countries are serving as UN peacekeepers, risking their lives in the world's most difficult regions to rebuild societies wracked by violence and to support people who have known little but war. Please take a moment to thank them.

Support the MDGs

End poverty by 2015 - this is the historic promise world leaders made at the UN Millennium Summit in 2000, which agreed the Millennium Development Goals. The UN Millennium Campaign supports and inspires people from around the world to take action to raise awareness of the Goals and encourage leaders to keep their promise.
