New UNA Youth Council elected

Following a hard-fought Youth Council election, UNA-UK is delighted to announce Adam Badwari and Kevin Harris as President and Vice-President of UNA Youth for 2014-15.

Over 600 votes were cast during this election which took place between 1 May and 30 May.  All candidates campaigned well presenting their manifestos in creative ways throughout.

The UNA Youth Council represents, inputs into and oversees the activities of UNA Youth.  These two positions on the Youth Council are elected annually with the possibility of further co-options to the committee.  Any member can stand for election and any member or supporter can vote.

The Youth Council usually formally hand over from one executive committee to another at their AGM in May/June.  As this year’s annual conference will take place in September/October the committee members formally handed over on 7 July.

Kevin Harris said “It is truly a privilege to have been elected into the office of the Youth Vice-Presidency and both Adam and I are extremely optimistic about the year we have ahead of us recalibrating the youth focus of the Association and delivering on the promises of our electoral platform".

Other candidates in this election were Apurv Gupta, Dalí ten Hove, Carl Giesecke, Ethan McLaughlin and Karan Thakrar.
