Dr Maria Varaki has worked for the Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, the UN High
Commissioner for Refugees in New York and for the Legal Advisory section of the Office of the Prosecutor of the
International Criminal Court in The Hague. Since November 2017 she is member of the International Law Association
ILA Committee on human rights in times of emergency.
