Walter Armbrust is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Oxford. He was living in Cairo from August 2010 to August 2012, and was therefore able to observe and experience the 25 January revolution from close range. He is currently nearing completion of A Symbolic Revolution: Culture and Politics in Post-Mubarak Egypt.
