First event for newly forming UNA Coventry branch

Published on

Updated:

These days it is more common to hear about UNA branches closing than new ones starting, but a tiny group of enthusiasts in Coventry is in the process of not only creating a new branch but has already started a student society at the University of Coventry. Click here to visit their Facebook page.

In addition, the University of Warwick (which lies on the outskirts of the city) already has a Model United Nations Society and, following its experience during World War II, the city of Coventry prides itself on being the 'City of Peace and Reconciliation'.

The embryonic Coventry branch organisers are bursting with fresh ideas, and have now finalised their first event. Click here for further details and ticket booking

Once this event has been successfully run, the organisers will submit themselves to UNA-UK to become a branch, provided they can identify three people who wish to serve as committee members, as required by the regulations.

Therefore if you would like to join the committee and help this baby branch to grow strong, please contact Philip Brown at unacoventry@gmail.com. Your help will be most welcome, and will help to bring the UN to a wider community of citizens and especially to young people.

Thank you for your support.
