UNA Harpenden: Public Meeting - Climate Change and Agriculture

Published on

As COP26 approaches, UNA supporters came to hear about ‘How we can respond effectively to the climate crisis.’ This meeting had two speakers – Green Councillor Simon Grover and Harpendonian Kyle Riley. First, Simon talked about the strategy on sustainability and climate change undertaken by St Albans District Council, where he is a Councillor. He detailed many local issues concerning the three key areas of energy, transport, and homes and buildings. Then, Kyle Riley concentrated firstly on heating in the home and he covered such items as solar panels, heat pumps, food preparation and home insulation. He then branched into what actions individuals could do in the community such campaigning on issues, writing letters to MPs, and democratic action.
