Chief Operating Officer

Angie joined UNA-UK in April 2015.  As UNA-UK’s Chief Operations Officer she manages all aspects of the Charity with overall responsibility for financial planning and governance including effective administrative functions, strengthening the organisations internal controls and processes and ensuring compliance with charity and company law and UNA-UK’s own rules and regulations.  Other responsibilities include preparing regular management reports for the UNA-UK Board and preparing the Charity's statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.

Angie trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the National Audit Office (NAO) and worked for NAO for over twenty years as external auditor for Central Government Departments, NGOs, Commonwealth organisations and United Nations Development Programme as well as value for money reports. After leaving the NAO  she worked mainly in the charity sector, initially as external auditor before joining deafPLUS, a national charity as their Head of Finance. Angie joined the Board of BlindAid, a charity delivering services for the blind as Honorary Treasurer in July 2013 and was appointed Chair of BlindAid Board in 2021.
