UNA Youth Council
UNA Youth is led by a council of student volunteers elected before the beginning of each academic year. The council is responsible for coordinating national youth events and campaigns. The current council is made up of:
Having become interested in politics at AS-level, the way in which people/nation states interact with each other has become the focus of my studies throughout my three years at Keele University as a politics and international relations student.
This personal interest lead me to Model United Nations and eventually to UNA Youth itself. I enjoy networking with other like-minded individuals from across the United Kingdom. I would like to use my time as Youth President to promote the work of the UN and to help raise the profile of UNA-UK.
I am currently a second year law student at Birmingham University but I first encountered the UN and MUN at secondary school where I established and ran the MUN society; in our first year we ran 5 conferences, one of which was with 200 students! At University I have continued to help organise conferences by being involved with organising UoBMAL (March 2012) and in the same month I was also involved as a Vice-Chair in the UNA-UK's Uniting the Nations.
I look forward to developing a coordinated approach to connecting University and College MUN societies would particularly like to take steps to establish a National UNA Youth MUN Conference.
